Gotta go Wood, Smeltz just looks out of form.

Chill out I didn't say it wasn't a good hat trick - all hat tricks are good. Just pointed out that all three goals were rather soft. Thats just a fact especially if you are comparing to the goals he usually scores.

Suppose what I was getting at was that a Goal is a Goal, you dont get "extra" for a 30 yard screamer

And I wasn't saying that you do.

Even then would not say it was all that soft. Two from the edge of the area one a tap in after some good anticipation for him to react and get in the six yard box. Goal keeping may not have been great admittedly but would still not call it (or indeed any hat trick) soft

Sorry but each individual goal was softer than your average Chris Wood goal. Not saying its bad thing just pointing it out. Can't believe we're debating this as it really doesn't matter. I'm done.

I call yarn on that.
But his point is valid, the 3rd goal in particular was terrible keeping but then wood has likely had to put up with some stunning saves denying him goals, take the good with the bad. Is pretty cool checking on the websites and seeing a kiwi knocking them in regularly and getting rated so highly.

Got no clue if it's really true, but someone posted on the Foxes forums that Wood is the leading goal scorer in Europe in 2013 at the moment. Messi who?

That would be an odd little factoid for the kids.

Guess what son, there was a point in time when I was the top goalscorer in Europe for the year...

Fair point about the step up and managers looking to bring in proven quality.

However, I can't recall too many Championship players banging them in as regularly as he is and as young as he is over the last few years. The only one that comes to mind was Earnshaw, who is a completely different typ of player and  was also a few years older when given a chance.

Truth is we'll never know until he finally gets a decent crack at it.

Quick question... are Championship strikers generally seen as better players than those in the Scottish Premier League (Celtic and Rangers really) because players making that move have been hit and miss also.

Burnleys Charlie Austin is in fire..again.

It is only 15 days into 2013, and lots of the other european leagues breaked over xmas period, so its probably right

'Chrissy Wood Wood Wood, he is very very good,
Chrissy Wood Wood Wood, he is very very good,
On his left, on his right, he will score all night,
On his head, on his chest, he is up there with the best'

Stealing that last one for the next all whites game.

It's all a lot more extravagant than our "we've got wood" on repeat.

As I walked past my local Ladbrokes this morning I saw that the offer in the window was Chris Wood to score first on Friday night. Putting down £10 would win me 80 apparently. Given that I have no idea how odds work over here, does that mean he is paying 8/1?
