Ok- so this is significant.

Premier League games will be replayed on beIN SPORTS 1. There are no immediate plans for on-demand services.
That really limits the value of Bein Sport's service.

well that's shark.
So Sky lied. Who knew that was possible?
well that's shark.
Innit. The reality is this such a complete regression from the quality of PLP's offering. I will probably buy for the live streams that i can use, but fall back to nefarious ways to get on-demand content! Silly.
So as it stands, I'm paying basically $120 per year for a tv channel, and that's it. No web access at all, no on-demand, just an archaic channel set-up which I can record (which I could do since the 80s with a VCR anyway).
And on top of that I have to pay at least $600 per year for the decoder/service that allows me to buy this channel in the first place, otherwise I couldn't have got it.
This is worse value than PLP (and Sky's old offering from 3 yrs ago) by absolutely miles.
And yet here we are, and the majority seem to be saying it's bloody great...
Sky should give their PR team a pat on the back, that's for sure.
I am willing to pay for what I value, so i will subscribe, much like i persist in doing for a-league, but the reality is for on-demand viewing, you're better off with gettyfooty or fullmatchesandshow and the like.
Well, I won't be getting this then.
So ridiculous how far behind the times so much sports coverage is. It's like the DVD zone system. The internet has levelled regional differences in access to media and geographically confined media rights should go the way of the dinosaurs, especially web rights. Broadcast rights might still be geographically restricted but streaming should be unbundled and sold directly to the consumer from the initial rights holder. Middle men are unnecessary and obstructive.
So Sky lied. Who knew that was possible?
Do you think it is more likely sky lied, or that Bein decided it wasn't viable/wasn't worth the effort and pulled the pin.
I like G.Neville's analysis, but think the rest of them are all pretty awful.
Carra would be better if he had subtitles. When we went to the 5TimesCo gig at the Embassy with Carra talking, I was sitting with two scouse blokes and even they said they struggled to understand him at times. When I do understand him though, he has good insight and that's not just my rose tinted glasses.
On the few times I've watched his analysis I haven't been impressed at all, thought he was a bit dim to be honest. Didn't have any issues understanding him.
But I have only seen him a few times so your opinion is probably better qualified than mine - I might've caught him on a bad day!

Well after blustering about finally getting off Sky, typical Vodafone swoop in with a deal to keep me hanging on...
Upgrading our internet to fibre unlimited (currently ADSL 80gb), at no extra charge, and gave me free sky sport for a year (on a 1 yr contract so for entire term of contract).
I added the Bein channels and it still came in drastically under what I'm currently paying. The deal basically eliminated the gains I was going to get if I left and went down the netflix/lightbox/beinconnect path instead, and the missus is happy that she's not losing her recorded library...
Although to be fair, I was definitely taking the online offering into account when I decided to purchase last week, so I need to re-visit that thinking now. I don't like to illegally stream as a general rule but I feel I'm being backed into a corner.

This is all a touch confusing so to clear things up...
Does that about sum it up?

That's how i read it, assuming the viewer has/even wants Sky.
bein have replied to me on Twitter saying sky go only pop up channels will be made available from time to time to show simultaneous games live
Wow. That. Sounds. Completely. Bull. Shark.

I think that's correct, but I'm not entirely sure about no.3 given Bein's comment about no on-demand.
Does that mean no Bein Connect at all, or just no On-Demand on the Connect platform?

Well this just got a whole lot worse. So they won't even be on sky for people to record? This is complete shark.

It's all a bit archaic but at the moment, I'm relieved I can watch football and I'm glad we won our first game!
Lucky for you...

I was (and am) waiting for the streaming service which I kind of naievely assumed would be like PLP....not got it on sky

Non-intentiaol dig but I'll take it...
I can't access Twitter at work so can't see what that Tweet says, but are we saying that:-
- The Non-SKY Online only option ($18ish a month) will just screen whatever is on BeIn Sports 1;
And as a result of that:-
- There is no On-Demand options to watch the game you want.
Is that correct?

1 - It hasn't been confirmed but I believe beIN online will show all the EPL games live.
2 - No on demand. Only replays on SKY beIN 1.

I wasn't quite clear, by the sounds of it there will be the 3 pop-ups on sky (1 more to come after the Olympics) then in addition to this there will be sky go only pop-ups.
At the moment there are 2 pop-ups on sky go (pop up 3 & 4)
Dazn.com is 10 euros a month. I am taking a long hard look at it.
EDIT:
Content has:
German commentary.
Not all premier league games are live. :/
You seem to need a german IBAN account or a Credit Card.
...German commentary...
This will sound great..."Liverpool gewinnt die Liga. Jürgen Klopp ist ein Gott in Merseyside"

Hah, I'd love to have more soundtrack options. I couldn't care less about pre or post game shows. Would just like a raw stadium sound feed.

That way we could have heard the travelling Man U fans chanting about London born Jordan Ibe beign a Scouser...forgetting of course about their captain who is an actual Scouser.

That's a good shout. I see they also support Switzerland and thankfully my VPN has a server there. Fudge the Premier League - the Championship is where it's at.

If you press mute you'll get a live feed from the Emirates.

I think this has already been mentioned or hinted at earlier in this thread, but comments from beIN on their Facebook page is saying:
"beIN SPORTS CONNECT will not be available within the next few weeks. We are working hard to make the service available as soon as possible. Please stay tuned for future updates regarding release date, features, content and pricing."
Looks like it might be a while before we get the legit online service.
Apparently Bein deleted the tweet saying there would be no on-demand...... wanting to get excited but not sure... plot thickens
But seriously WTF is going on. No closer to knowing what's happening internet-wise with the season a week in. This can't have been part of the plan.

It's a lot like supporting Arsenal isn't it? A week into the season and we're still not sure whether we're going to get what we need.
Not sure if it'll be the same for the PL this season, but ss1 and ss2 are showing BeIN feeds of the Champions League qualifiers, along with the 2nd BeIN channel (3 games in total). Hopefully and indication on what they're going to do when there's 5/6 PL games on to avoid having to delay games

From what I have heard that won't be happening. Once the 3rd pop up is available after RIO then that's 4 games live simultaneously, which covers most weekends from the quick research I have done.

It will cover most weekends but from memory, last round of the season has all 10 games starting at the same time.
