So that means that we have to go back to court and a judge rules on what? Whether or not the value of the club is appropriate?

In the meantime, the sale cannot go through?

Apparently it stops everything. Administration included.

Hicks claims that there were higher bids of 400m+ (up to a 1bn!) that was ignored by the English board members and RBS.

From Dallas News:
I just spoke with Stodghill, who says his office is being "innundated with angry e-mails from Liverpool fans." I asked him: How does a Dallas court have jurisdiction over proceedings initiated in the U.K. He says: Royal Bank of Scotland is registered to do business in the state of Texas; and, of course, New England Sports Ventures is U.S. based. Also being sued is Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton. And, says Stodghill, "We allege in the lawsuit he committed some of his tortuous acts in Texas in meetings with Mr. Hicks, so we're suing him in part based on conduct here that did harm to Texas residents."

Itcould be smoke and mirrors, delay tactics but for what cause? It's the same deal that Texas Rangers went through. Months of courts and trials...

Ok, so it looks like this is a standard temporary injunction. All the 'soley's on the injunction indicate the judge can only go by what Hick's claims. He has no facts from the other side (RBS, English board).

It's a delay tactic and presumably the court will here the other sides version in the morning and decide whether the injunction still stands or should be lifted.

If it still stands then who knows what'll happen. If it's lifted then NESV sign the deal and the sale goes through. Hicks will then sue retrospectively for damages.

Hopefully i've spelled that out correctly. My paralegal learnings are still a bit infant.

An offer up to 1bn???? Surely not

My paralegal learnings are also somewhat underdeveloped, but I believe a swift stab to the face of Messrs Hicks and Gillet may successfully lift the injunction...

Ffs, don't post his email. Pretty sure that isn't going to help; he's received death threats etc.

but, fml, this is too much. I don't know what to do anymore. Too much, I tell ye! And 1bil from RBS= British tax payers money.. Government step in?

Gah, I miss the days when understanding LFC didn't involve needing a degreee in business studies, law and politics

I didn't say abuse the prick. Let him know how you feel worded in a respectable manner.

The bastard is apparently corrupt anyway.

Yeah, came off as a bit more aggressive than I meant, tbh. Just not really sure what it'll achieve! Mmm, wouldn't be surprised. Welcome to Texas, la's.

Right, yes. I've just read up on it a little. Looks like you're virtually in admin, just not officially yet of course.

You know, as i said to El Nino, i'm all for seeing United, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool et al crash and burn on the pitch, but not like this. It used to only be Sailing that was a sport decided in the courts :(

Progress: UK courts throw out the Texas injunction. Hicks has until 4pm UK time Friday to accept the NESV sale or he's in contempt of court.

Hicks is in court right at this minute somewhere in Dallas, probably trying to prove everything he stated yesterday to get the injunction.

We walk on...

Surely you can understand after being put through those American's colonic ringer and farted out the other end that we as supporters are just fed up. Those among us with smaller brain matter (usually of Everton origin) are a little bit stupid. They're just running their mouths.

They have FAILED so many times trying to invest in sports teams, they just really have no idea.

NESV and Hicks lawyers meeting judge 7am Dallas time tomorrow, 1 pm UK time. Board meeting in London broken up for the night.

Reports saying that NESV have already signed the deal. Just waiting for the hearing tomorrow in Texas for the Judge to finally tell Hicks to FO.

Ah, this is just crazy..

So will H&G sue for damages or something? Even if they lose the club, which seems reasonably likely now...

Quip of the day!

By the way, yesterday's High Court hearing cost approx. half a million.

It's not bad when you can earn 3k an hour for talking about LFC!

Seems like such a crock of sh*t them being able to roll over to a U.S. bank and cry for an injunction. This act needs a good metaphor.

What a morning! Went to bed last night head frazzled, woke up at 3:20 and couldn't sleep. Finally mustered the courage to check at 4:05 so grabbed my phone, jumped online to the news just breaking! Buzzing ever since. Champagne breakfast stuff. The Texans are out.

It should also be noted that we owe a great deal of thanks to Martin Broughton for all of this. Knowing what he was up against with those two w***ers he could easily have walked away and done nothing. He's orchestrated quite the victory.

Purslow and Ayre also deserve a handshake. Cecil has driven me bonkers at times with some of the things he's said but he has helped to deliver. Don't believe he should stay on but thanks anyway Cecil.
