But yes in the end it is our fault i guess. Anelka should have taken a shot instead of falling over. Drogba should have buried that shot. etc.

I agree with you, we have ourselves to blame for not finishing them off, but you cant help thinking, that with a different ref, we would be on our way to rome?
Press reports seem to be unanimous that the ref had a shocker and questioning whether UEFA should allow referees from footballing backwaters to ref such important games? It would be a big step up from p-t football in Norway to a CL semi-final that's for sure. Let's be clear though that I don't personally feel hard done by and still think we only have ourselves to blame for not getting to the final before anyone else starts telling me to get over it.
We shut them down, over two legs. We played better football.
Just how is ten men behind the ball better football ?
WE SHUT THEM DOWN. We stopped them playing their brand of football. They had ZERO shots on target up until the 93rd minute!
They were creating nothing, we had our chances but either failed to score, or had them taken by stupid reffing.

You idiot. We did both. We stopped them playing, and still created chances. We either just f***ed them up, or got bullshat by the ref.

Im sure alot of teams, alot of players, would react like this.

Not a lot of teams. Nor players. Though I too can picture Rooney doing something like this to be honest.
I think heaps of players would go nuts if they were in the position Chelsea were in this morning.
Spot on. But doesn't this show what is wrong with football at the highest level nowadays? The behaviour of Drogba and Ballack is deplorable for two players in the absolute elite group of footballers worldwide.
Anyway looks like Platini got his wish doesn't it. Another all-English CL Final might just of caused him to implode.
Not everyone plenty of toffees would have hoped to see you get run ragged three days prior to the F.A cup final
Looks like EVERYONE got their wish. It's no secret everyone wanted a Barca Man U final for some reason. If Man U are smart, and the definitley are, they will beat Barca with relative ease
oh well we'll just hope it goes to penalties
I think heaps of players would go nuts if they were in the position Chelsea were in this morning.
I thoughr the ref was poor, and you are right, there should have been 2 penalties. However, Barca were the better team over the 90 min. As a United fan I would have rather have faced Chelsea in the final, as I reckon that Barca are the best team in Eupope.

They didn't even have a single shot on target in the first 90 minutes for starters...
ManU spend more then us so I don't know what you are talking about. Everyone seems to forget this....

I dont see how people can say Barca were better over the 90 minutes. i think youre insane if you think that.
Ahem, it's Buffon II. There is no second o. Try 'Buffy' if it's confusing.
And my comments hardly defy logic now do they?
Maybe a slight exageration. Better, though in the 45 minutes I saw. Only in the final delivery was barca lacking. Their movement on the ball was much more fluid, and much more pleasant on the eye.

Only works if you hold out to the bitter end. Chelsea didn't quite do that. Their tactics very very nearly worked. Alas, not quite. That's the risk you take.
Most of Chelsea attacking options were through the long ball in the 45 minutes I saw. If that's effective, so be it.

AND creating chances.
Please, what chances? You scored from a brilliant shot from outside the box, but there was nothing creative about the build-up. Drogba had the only other chance when set up by Anelka and he fluffed it. Everything else was hoof it long and hope for the best. And Barca still outshot Chelsea in this game too - Chelsea had more shots on target, but not more shots in the whole game.
And Turfmoore, a bow to you - I could not have explained it better myself.

It wasnt hoof it long and hope for the best. it was hoof it long because drogba was beating everyone else in the air.
also, dont forget at least 4 chelsea chances were ruined by barca cheating
Just how is ten men behind the ball better football ?
I dont see how you could say Barca were the better team. They got lucky.
This sums it up. You stopped them playing rather than playing yourselves.
Take your anti football and f**k off.

Wouldn't you be pissed and vent a bit in this forum.

Barca couldnt do shi* until the 93rd minute, their only shot of the game (it was a beautiful shot). It wasnt anti-football, it was effective football. Its how you stop a team like Barca. united done similar last year.

Quite. Didn't Arsenal once win lots of trophies by boring the pants off everyoneand sneaking 1-0 victories all over the place? Your comments show complete ignorance of football. The last thing I think you won was the FA Cup on pens against Man U after not once venturing into the United half in 120 minutes. Now that was anti-football.
BEAUTIFUL goal from Essien

Errr actually i think you'll find we won the FA Cup after being outplayed, rather than putting 10 men behind the ball and hoofing it everytime we got it. Check the stats from the game we still got about 8-10 shots away on goal.
Wasn't the last thing you won an FA Cup against Man U where both teams bored the sh*t out of everyone watching??

Err actually I think you'll find Aresenal had one shot on target in 120 minutes, and that came in the 97th! "10 men behind the ball and hoofing it every time we got it" - priceless.
Doesn't change the fact, what's the point of pushing up and loosing? The fans would much rather see a win. (Unless you rather see 4 goals in your own net)
Ballack chasing the ref at the end was classic though. Hahahahaha. That would be a quality gif.

Hopefully it will be Rooney and Ferdinand doing just that in the final.

They were 4 penalties.
The ref acknowledged Malouda was fouled, but for some reason gave it outside the box?
Didier had his shirt pulled, and was tripped at the same time, so Abidal should have seen red right then
Piques was an obvious handball
Eto'o raised his arm to block a goalbound shot from Ballack
The ref was in prime position for all of these, he should have seen them.
Chelsea were robbed. Absolutley

Definatly deserved to win that. Four easy penelties turned down though in the end we had other chances that should of been taken that were not. You can say we were lucky in Spain but then Barcalona won the lottery at the Bridge. Terrible refereeing.

We defended a hell of alot better (without dragging people down or handling the ball), and we managed to attack better too. so much for 'best team in world'. they had 70% possession and one shot! that says it all. they couldnt create anything, bar that beautiful shot from Iniesta.
In my opinion there's a few factors that deserve comment from today's game
1. Ref was disgraceful and hugely influenced the outcome of the game.
2. Tactical mistake by Hiddink by bringing on Belletti and not another striker, we where only 1 up and should have pushed for the 2nd and kept the pressure on their defence.
3. The loss of Drogba at about the same time they went down to ten men, his presence would have magnified the loss of a central defender for Barca which surely would have cost them.
4. The behaviour of Ballack and Drogba at the end of the game, while not acceptable behaviour by professional sportsmen they where clearly emotionally involved with the situation and for want of a better word "lost the plot"
5. Anti-Chelsea brigade such as most of British media and 95% of world football fans love to focus on any negative aspect to a Chelsea game the club, players or its fans, the bleating that followed the outstanding 0-0 draw at Nou Camp and then again on players behaviour after today's game is just the usual sh*te Chelsea have to put up with and it's been going on for years.
6. Comments on this forum from the likes of" liverpoolfan1" and "Buffoon2" really defy any logic, coming from supporters of clubs recently eliminated from cup competitions by Chelsea leaves you looking like bad losers and sour grapes. The fact that both the clubs you follow have disgraced themselves on and off the field on many occations over the years on a scale far beyond what we witnessed today makes me wonder how long have you been watching football?? Or maybe it's a moment of selective memory.
The real winner from today was Man U, they get to face a seriously weakened Barca thanks to Chelsea and should have no problems picking up the CL trophy again

Ok, speaking as a supporter of a team that beat Chelsea (no grudge to bear), I have to be added to the insane category.
Over the 180 minutes of the tie, I think the team with over 70% possession, 7 shots on goal to 5, 33 shots overall to 16, 16 corners to 8, has a lot of reason to feel as though they deserved to get through.
I only saw the 1st 45 minutes of today and thought Barcelona looked far the better team, but there you go.
It must be remembered that football is a game of chance and sometimes thing do and don't fall your way. That is the way it works. Essien's attempt on goal would probably go in only about 10% (or less) of ocassions. Doesn't stop it being brilliant. Penalties are sometimes given, sometimes they are not. Chance sometimes has a human element (bloody referees!), sometimes not (post/deflection etc).
At times it all seems is so unfair. Us Burnley fans know that only too well. But, that is all part of the beautiful game and long may it continue.
There's always next season.

This is what I cant understand? How could you think Barca were 'by far the better team' last night?
At the end of the day, the better team is defined by the one stat that matters.
And its insane to suggest that you wouldn't be just as pissed off as Ballack and Drogba were.

'pleasing to the eye' does not equal good, nor effective. chelsea were very effective, defending well, keeping barca from even getting a shot on target, AND creating chances.

Admittedly, you should have had 2 (that's 2, not 4!) penalties. Just like Barca should have had one in the first game. And just like Barca shoudln't have had a man sent off. And just like Ballack and Bosingwa in particular managed to stay on at Nou Camp despite hacking and smacking anything that moved for 90 minutes. The refereeing was crap in both games, for both teams.
In the end, Chelsea paid the price for an overly conservative approach, especially after they had Barca on their knees after Abidal got sent off - you were a goal up, a man up, and Barcelona looked dejected and defeated. Yet Hiddink then decided to sub on Beletti for Drogba and sit on the lead, and it came to bite him on the arse big time. Deal with it - after 180 minutes, Chelsea were behind Barca in pretty much every meaningful statistic you can come up with in football. Sure being knocked out hurts, but some much needed perspective is in order here.

I'm sure it was your club that got every English club banned from Europe for 5 years.
As for the Arse, abuse of officials is a thing they have specialised in since the Adams, Bould and co days, attacking other players and team officials in the tunnel or just plain thuggery on the park
