Can anyone tell me if they'll be showing Man Yoo vs MK Dons on the Comedy Channel tonight?
British Football on the Tele: Sommet, Sky, TV One etc.
Just watching the Bradford City vs Leeds United cup game on Sommet.
WHAT an equaliser for Bradofrord! Knott bad at all!
F*@# me! As I was typing... 3 goals in 3 minutes, from 0 - 0, to 0 - 1 to ten man Leeds, and now two minutes later 2 - 1 Bradford!!!
And the Bradford fans in FULL voice to the Leeds coach:
You're getting sacked in the morning
Sacked in the morning
SACKED IN THE MORNING!!!
is the mysky guide constantly wrong with sommett or something? I go through the next days programming the night before and haven't seen these games (man utd and Leeds) on there.
I don't have sky, so not sure. The programme guide in freeview seems correct.
I looked at the Sky EPG to see if the Man U game was on (once I heard the score was 0-2) and it was advertising surfing I think.
So I left it and it wasn't till people from NZ were tweeting about their demise and commenting on the action that I actually changed the channel and it was on.
Might be worth sending sky and sommett a message then, asking them to sort their sh*t out
Might be worth sending sky and sommett a message then, asking them to sort their sh*t out
I think it's because Sommett change their guide at short notice, but Sky doesn't run auto updates on theirs for outside groups...
ESPNAus/NZ one has same issues at times as well.
Yeah, Sommet's Facebook page is always the best place to check.
Does anyone know why the EPL Highlights show isn't on OnDemand? I thought it was supposed to be on there for a week. Its bad enough that its on at 11-50pm and now it seems I can't watch it on demand at a better time.
I suspect it's because they are pricks.
I suspect it's because they are pricks.
It's Premier League Pass you should blame - I think they dictate to TVNZ when they can show the highlights show and how long it can be available On Demand.
They only allow TVNZ to show a live game and the highlights show to promote Premier League Pass.
PLP don't want people to be happy with what they can get for free on TVNZ but want them to subscribe.
Hence expect it to be even worse next year - eventually they'll probably not allow TVNZ to screen any games.

Sommet have been dropping hints this week on their Facebook that Tottenham TV is about to join their lineup.
Announcement due next week I believe.
I guess Everton TV ("Toffee TV") would have been another option but it might have been "Scouser overkill" with both Liverpool clubs on the one channel.
Don't even know if Toffee TV show entire games?

Not sure where else to put this but Sommet have just announced on Facebook that they have gone bust and will cease transmission at midday today. Such a shame as they showed a lot of football we otherwise wouldn't get to see here.
https://www.facebook.com/SommetSports
PRESS RELEASE 12 December 2014 SOMMET SPORTS
As at 12.00pm today free-to-air sports channel Sommet Sports will cease transmission.
Launched 18th July 2013, Sommet Sports has delivered both live and pre-recorded sports on Freeview Channel 14, and Sky Channel 69. Funding initially understood to be available for the channel upon launch had largely never materialised and Sommet has been forced to attempt to deliver a full nationwide broadcast channel on one third of the finance.
“I am totally gutted at not being able to sustain something that we have long held a fervent desire to deliver to New Zealanders. Sommet was born from a dream to deliver free sports to all kiwis. Sadly this dream is not to be.” says Andrew Reeves, Director of Sommet Sports Ltd. “We have been blown away by the amazing support and consistently growing viewership that we gained in such a short time. We can only thank our loyal fans who have stayed with us until the end.”
“Being the ‘new kids on the block“, we also struggled to gain a strong foothold with most advertising agencies. This coupled with an acute funding shortage has left us with the sad reality of having to make the difficult call.”
“I would like to thank OMD, Spark, McDonalds, KFC and Fiat Chrysler group for their support and belief in our vision of delivering ‘Free Sports for Kiwis’ “.
News story:
R.I.P. Sommet Sport
It was always going to be tough funding a free-to-air 24 hour sports channel in a small country like this.
Rights to major sports don't come cheap.
Was good while it lasted to get all the free football even if their scheduling was often haphazard.
Signs that they were struggling were there this year with reduced football coverage such as only one Premier League club channel.
I noticed thay had no Europa League games scheduled for this week when they normally carry them...
A shame there won't be much football on TV for those without Sky now...
Down to one EPL game a week on TV One and the EPL highlights at midnight on Wednesdays.
Bugger!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed all the live Bundesliga games and highlights and shows that came with it.
Sad day indeed
I suppose those smary cnuts at Sky will be laughing about it. There was some excellent football on Sommet, including the Championship and lower leagues. I enjoyed a few of those games. Very disappointing no sponsors really got too involved.
Genuinely pissed of about this.Going to miss getting up on my days off and catching some Bundasliga or league football also no more 3Lions games :( still refuse to go back to those fudging sgark cods at sky!
"Would You Help Bring Sommet Sports Back to Life?
To Our Valued Sommet Sports Viewers.
With great sadness Sommet Sports stopped transmission last week on Friday 12 December due to lack of funding initially promised to us from financiers. ...
Sommet amazingly managed to deliver quality Sports television for 18 months on 1/3 of the funding initially assured to us.
Since our closure we have been greatly humbled by the many messages of support and dismay from viewers throughout the country who have loved watching the many sports events that we delivered FREE to all New Zealanders 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Many have asked us to seriously consider Crowd funding. This is where the public fund a project or idea.
Well.. we have an idea.
Would you consider pledging a sum to return you sports channel to New Zealand screens?
We would love to know.
Tell us your ideas.
Would you pledge $100 donation and also receive a Sommet Sports T-Shirt?
Would you gift $50 to us for a 4GB pin drive?
Let us know your thoughts and suggestions?
Your responses could bring this idea to life. We may be the first in New Zealand to Crowd Fund an idea – your sports channel – one that YOU funded, that YOU can watch free, that YOU can be proud of.
Your opinions matter !!
Kind regards
Andrew Reeves
This is a personal initiative by the previous management of Sommet Sports Limited"
Thank you all for responses. We are now working in a plan which with your help will bring back Free Sports for Kiwis. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and hopefully a Sports packed New Year.
Please keep your ideas coming. If you would like to email us please email [email protected].

I need some help - so I am moving to Japan next week and am trying to figure out how I am going to watch football (English and A-League). I've just bought an iPad which is where I get lost.
I have access to both premier league pass and to the sky go app - but assume they will be automatically restricted by geo-location right? And then I can't use google chrome with hola unblocker because Mac doesn't have flash player.
Anyone know a way around this? Or a service I can pay for that shows all the football and can be accessed where ever in the world? I have been told Puffin web browser is great and has flash access, but then I don't know if I am able to somehow block my location so I can use skygo in Japan.

I've been enjoying the Argie football over Easter - they have heaps of the top division games with English commentaries.
On at good times too - there was a game streaming at mid-day today.
Lots of English Championship games streaming later this week.
On the website, on the right of where it says "Schedule" change "Select Sport" to "Football" and then click on a day to see what is streaming that day.
