By that measure it starts with a foul outside the Auckland area.

does it - was the foul called correctly in your opinion?
Half time at Davey F. Tee Dubs lead 2-0.
Crowd at 150. Unconfirmed reports the Phoenix have killed 100 odd fans since last week.
Sorry that's a pathetic turnout for a team playing such good football. If I was a Team Wellington player I'd feel insulted given the effort they're making. This makes TW about the lowest attended ASBP franchise in the country, despite riding high in the ladder. At this rate TW could win the championship and have fewer so-called Wellington football fans watching than players on the field.
It's fortunate that the O League won't feature a home game this season, as so few watching TW would be an embarrassment.
By my reckoning this means about 2% of those who go see the Phoenix bother to watch TW. But hey, lets not talk about the elephant in the room shall we? It's because, ummm a grey cloud was seen over Petone, the bus stop outside Dave Farrington park was moved, there's something on the tele.
If nothing else, surely this will prompt some of you Nix fans to go watch the best local (NZ) team if for no other reason than to throw it back at me.
It was hosing down on Sunday.
Has anyone seen the pencils?
Was the unicorn there?

Rain in Wellington, surely not? Did anyone call the emergency services? I'll start an appeal to send umbrellas to Wellington straight away!
PS - you only got a few more on a fine day against the ASBP and O League champions. As you were.

i think you will find not all us phoenix fans are from wellington i travel to watch the phoenix at home but i am not going to travel for 2-3 hours to watch TW. if i lived in wellington i would attend TW matches.

Reasons not to turn out for TW:
Who are Team Wellington? Where's Dave Farrington Park? There's a national league? I did once in 2008, there's too much/not enough/no (choose any of rain, wind, sunshine, clouds, humidity), they've moved the bus stop, I've got a bogey up my nose I've been saving for the right moment, 'Finding Bigfoot' is about to start, because a jaffa said so (jab, jab with pencil), I might go to the final, I think I'm going to yawn that afternoon, I hate Miramar or I'll watch them on Sky (Capt. Mainwaring's fingers twitch on ban stick).
Don't worry folks, I'll soon get bored and go away again.

Except that ACFC's catchment area is actually only central Auckland (about the same population as Wellington).
Sound like you are making excuses why others from outside Auckland central won't go to games. They are the OFC champs you know.
Well lets reduce Wellingtons catchment area as well then!!!

To the Miramar region?

I'm actually enjoying baiting you and not getting emotionally involved for once.
Oh. Okay.
Then I guess we'll just take all the people that attend from the Shore and South Auckland off that total as they are not from the 'catchment' area and must just be there for the novelty seeing as they are in the 'catchment' of the North Shore and South Auckland clubs.
Venue Population Attendance Percentage
Auckland 450300 600 0.1332%
Wellington 200100 275 0.1374%

I have no idea why i am getting involved but why have you only knocked off the Auckland attendance?
I have given his stupid claim the accuracy and relevancy it deserves.
A city of 1.5 million people and 900 turn up but he has the nerve to come on here and complain about other teams efforts generally picking a fight with those that attend. Even with the Phoenix 'killing the crowds for Team Wellington' they get a better percentage of the local population that City but captain myopic will find excuses not accept that.
Last time I checked the people who run this place forked out hundreds of dollars last week, were matchday sponsors, and organised a deal to get people to the game for free. What does BlueMagic do every week to get people to city other than to come on here and make a Twit of himself which ostracises people who might actually be keen.
There is a reason there is no A-League team in Auckland (a concept BlueMagic and his cronies heartily embraced when they had it) it's because no one watched them. The %age of people watching the Phoenix out of the Wellington region is hundreds of % greater than the Auckland sides ever managed yet people turn up with facts that don't stand up to complain about support in this city.
How about you sort your own house before laying in to a situation you know fudge all about (not directed at you Buffon II)
This is my last comment on the "debate".
I understand that the crowd numbers are not huge. But where is the evidence that this is the fault of the Phoenix? And not just poor weather, poor promotion of the national league etc.
"we get a few hundred more people at games than you do" is also a pathetic and ridiculous thing to argue/brag about.
Reasons not to turn out for TW:
Who are Team Wellington? Where's Dave Farrington Park? There's a national league?
These are reasonable questions.

Except that it indictes that it's only Team Wellington that has a problem. As Baiter has pointed out the 5th best team in the world don't do any better but are clearly a far more massive club.
The last question is the relevant one because it's not just a Team Wellington problem.

Im assuming that you factored in that on Jan12 when Auckland City played TW that Waitakere Utd and Wanderers SC were also playing ASB Prem home games in Auckland at the same time as the ACFC v TW game when you did your calculations

Waitakere - killing the ASBP since everyone else already has.
Did I say it was an excuse? No just pointing out that his figures may need to be amended slightly.
As a % of population seemed to be his point, But as usual he hadnt quite done all his research correctly.
And at no point have I commented on or agreed with previous post re catchment areas
I chose a game vs Team Wellington.
I could have chosen one of the games that only had 750 and less clashing matches but instead I chose one that had a decent drawcard to give City a fighting chance in this comparison.
So you didnt do all your research then? Instead you choice a game v TW? Because they have such a great pulling power in Auckland that every football fan in town wants to see them....
Maybe you could do us all the compliment of recalculating the figures im sure we'd all be so grateful.
p.s Im so glad you are back so much fun to be had with you rather than Tegal and 2nd best, Vader tries his hardest but still got some way to go to match your irritabilty factor
you're seriously debating what probably amounts to 0.01% attendance by population? Points still remains that they're very similar.

Not debating the numbers was just asking for an accurate figure and agreed it wouldnt make much difference at all,
But he's not called baiter for nothing.....
